Super loud fireworks aren’t just a nuisance to communities. They cause suffering for animals and vulnerable people – so we enlisted celebrities and influencers to speak up about it.
Sir Stephen Fry, Peter Egan, Kate Ford, Suzie Fletcher, Dan Richardson, Faye Winter, Olivia Bowen, Catherine Schmid, and Will Travers came together in our short film to ask the public to call on the Government to reduce the maximum noise level of consumer fireworks.

The UK’s largest horse welfare charity Redwings are campaigning to make low noise fireworks the standard (under 90 decibels), and more than 184 thousand people signed their petition last year.
Rewriting Earth and Redwings joined forces to get celebrities and influencers to get a mass audience talking about fireworks, and make their voices heard in a public consultation, which closed on 7th October 2026.
We also highlighted stories from members of the public who had been affected – Joanna’s horse died after a firework went off nearby. Ruth was forced to move house to protect her dog. Inayah is campaigning against the use of antisocial fireworks, and Craig is a former serviceman for whom fireworks make life intolerable.
Incredible comic artist Mrs Frollein joined the campaign, posting this gorgeous post to Instagram. With over half a million followers, this pushed our message out even further to a wider audience.
2,660 people commented on the posts, with hundreds requesting more information on how to directly contribute to the public consultation, or sharing their own stories:

At Rewriting Earth, this is exactly what we want storytelling to do: give important causes a louder voice and help turn attention into action.
